Noor Cholis Idham is a Full Professor in the Department of Architecture Universitas Islam Indonesia Yogyakarta Indonesia, where he has been a faculty member since 1996. He is currently the Head of the Department. He completed his Ph.D. and Master at Eastern Mediterranean University and took undergraduate studies at the same university where he is teaching now. Interrelated to his research focus on architecture and building safety as well as vernacular and tropical architecture, he is also an author of many books and papers on building safety and earthquake, tropical comfort, building structural system, and Islamic Architecture. In lecturing, he is the instructor of Architecture and Structural System, Building Safety, and Architectural Design Studios for the undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs. Besides doing academic works, he is furthermore a registered architect as well as an active member of the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI), who involved in some prestigious design projects in Indonesia.
